Cheaps Jackson wrote asking for a song called ‘Only My Legs Hurt Now’ which was weird. My friend had just fallen off her bike and there was some synergy, so I wrote about that. Cheaps was psyched and I was too about the dumb guitar solo… The drumbeat is from the Adventureland OST….I think one of the Yo La Tengo songs. I wrote this one in a sleepy haze one weekday morning, hence the tone. It’s been interesting to treat songwriting as a job for a little while… get up write a song, have breakfast, watch the new Curb Your Enthusiasm, have a shower, write a song, get coffee…
